Description:
We have an exciting new opportunity for someone to join the Clinical Infection Research Group (CIRG) as a postdoctoral research associate (PDRA) in the field of immunology. This position would suit a research associate with a strong interest in the field of infectious diseases immunology to be based between Zimbabwe and the UK.
You will work on a project aiming to characterise hybrid SARS-CoV-2 immunity in Zimbabwean adults with HIV and other chronic diseases, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The PDRA will be working with collaborators at the Biomedical Research and Training Institute (BRTI) and Zvitambo Laboratories in Harare, Zimbabwe. You will also be expected to support and train others in the team, including PhD students, local scientists and visitors from collaborating institutions.
We are looking for a highly organised and enthusiastic post-doctoral scientist with the potential to become a leader in the field of immunology. You should have a PhD in immunology, must be a good communicator and willing to work as part of a dynamic team.
As the successful applicant, you will work closely with research teams led by Prof Thushan de Silva, Prof Sarah Rowland-Jones, Prof Katharina Kranzer and Prof Andrew Prendergast. This is a fixed term post until 31st January 2026.
