POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Dr. Warren J. Leonard’s laboratory in the Immunology Center, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, NIH, DHHS, is recruiting a Research Biologist/Immunologist. The successful candidate would join an exciting team focused on elucidating the biology, signaling, and molecular regulation/epigenetics of the immune system. Work focuses on cytokines, with models ranging from tumor immunology, autoimmunity, allergy, to infectious diseases, with studies ranging from basic molecular mechanisms to human disease. The research work will integrate work with human cells and mouse models coupled to a range of immunological/biochemical/next generation sequencing approaches (e.g., RNA-seq, scRNA-seq, ATAC-seq, ChIP-seq, Hi-ChIP).
REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate must have received a Ph.D. and/or an M.D. The ideal candidate will be hard-working, energetic, and excited about science and will perform state-of-the-art experiments and help manage the lab. Experience with a variety of specialized laboratory techniques in immunology, molecular biology, and biochemistry, as well as related to next-generation sequencing are highly desirable but most important is the ability and interest to learning and pursue research projects.
Applications from women, minorities, and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged. Appointees may be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or foreign nationals with or eligible to obtain a valid employment authorized visa. This position is subject to a background investigation. Salary is commensurate with education, research experience and accomplishments.
