Description:
Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board is seeking to recruit someone to lead the Research in Kent & Medway ICB. We are looking for an ambitious and driven Clinical Research and Innovation Lead to help us transform Kent & Medway ICB into a learning health and care system.
This role will work directly for the ICB Chief Medical Officer and is expected to work collaboratively with the ICB Deputy CMO, ICB Director of Strategy, Chief Clinical Information Officer, and other senior leads across the system. The role will include responsibility for supporting and increasing local research activity aligned to population health needs, developing systems and partnerships that widen research opportunities for the local system and ensuring the ICB can draw on the latest evidence and research to support its strategies and programmes.
Responsibilities:
Supporting relevant, local research activity
Agree the internal governance processes for supporting research and developing research and innovation partnerships
Develop a plan for supporting primary care, community and cross-system research
Setting the direction and attracting relevant local research and innovation
a) Develop a plan for influencing the direction of future local research and innovation initiatives by identifying and communicating the local priorities to relevant academic and other partners
b) Develop a local Trusted Research Environment (TRE) and a transparent process for accessing local data for research purposes
c) Build the partnerships and systems and processes that can support citizen research
Developing a system that enables evidence-informed decision making and quality improvement
a. Develop a plan for rapid evidence synthesis which can inform decision making
b. Invest into an analytics hub which can provide system intelligence and insights into the key system pressures
c. Develop a systematic way of learning from local research, innovations, and QI initiatives
d. Develop a Research, Innovation and QI Forum/Steering group
e. Develop a long-term set of partnerships with key researchers and innovators
f. Develop the governance structure to create a learning system that supports research, innovation, QI and, ultimately, evidence and data-informed decision making
