You will be required to time record.
Full training in Export Control, National Security & Investment Act 2021 can be provided.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

The Research Contracts and Research Compliance Team is looking for a skilled legal professional to work closely with the Senior Compliance Manager, a Contract Manager and the Isambard Project Board to deliver and manage legal solutions relating to the operation of Isambard AI.

It will be the first Tier-0 supercomputer the UK has ever hosted, ranking amongst the top 10 most powerful supercomputers in the world.
As a Compliance and Contract Manager you will be visible to senior members of the Division of Research, Enterprise and Integrity as well as to the Project Board and senior academics member of the faculty.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

This role is a project specific role sitting between the Research Compliance sub-team and the Research Contracts Sub-Team. You will report into the Senior Research Compliance Manager, with a dotted line into the Research Contracts Manager (Innovation Support). You will be expected to work:

  • Advise the Project Board on legal issues relating to Isambard AI
  • Build wider relationships, negotiate and influence stakeholders
  • Develop, maintain, manage legal systems and processes
  • Advice on US/UK Export Control, National Security and Investment Act 2021, Subsidy Control as well other relevant laws from time to time
  • Advice on Access Terms and Conditions, Research Collaboration Agreements, Service Agreements and the full range of commercial law.
  • Ensure that we are ready for any audits.
