We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Research Consultant to join our DHL Consulting team based in Bonn. You will collaborate closely with our management consulting teams by providing business insights and becoming their trusted advisor. Your role will encompass project-specific research tasks where you will leverage your expertise to deliver comprehensive and actionable findings. Additionally, you will own DHL Consulting’s knowledge management ensuring that valuable know-how is easily accessible and enables best practice sharing and learning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 5 years relevant research experience preferably in the logistics market and/or for a consulting company
University degree in business, logistics, economics, statistics, computer science or comparable degree; outstanding grades in analytical classes
General tech savviness and experience in working with modern software solutions, experiences with Machine Learning and GenAI solutions are preferred
Experience in internet research and creativity in identifying new sources
Ability to assess and prioritize research findings
Independent working style yet ability to work in teams
Flexibility and ability to prioritize & work with deadlines
Accurate working style with attention to detail and quality
Fluency in English and German

Responsibilities:

Research and project support
Define and adjust processes for how to request research tasks, conduct research, and deliver sound results and findings
Execute ad-hoc research requests in close alignment with project teams
Conduct market and competitor intelligence research projects for DHL/external clients independently and present findings to project teams and clients
Manage external resources in executing standard research requests
Provide quality control of research deliverables from external partners
Define required data bank accesses and manage access for DHL Consulting (incl. access to data from 3rd parties in the DHL Group)
Coordinate with external providers to identify suitable experts for research requests, support project teams in picking experts & preparing expert calls
Communicate research offers within DHL Consulting, incl. new joiner trainings and internal communication
Knowledge Management and execution
Product owner for the internal knowledge management platform incl. steering of IT vendor for maintenance and further development
Independently identify and implement new technology to further develop knowledge management and research services –; e.g. via GenAI Solutions
Identify & conduct upskilling opportunities on most relevant news and developments in DHL as well as in the wider Logistics industry
Communicate relevant research results/news to relevant internal stakeholders
Coordinate cooperation and exchange with other inhouse consultancies
Ensure the correctness and timeliness of all content on the internal knowledge management platform
Ensure standardized documentation of working documents (e.g., discussion papers, white papers, proposals) across all internal practice groups
