JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Research Coordinator with experience working with individuals with disabilities in a fast-paced research environment. As a Research Coordinator within the Bloorview Research Institute the successful candidate will be required to work alongside an interdisciplinary research team working in the field of disability research and participate in BRI related events, committees and meetings. Strong critical appraisal skills, effective communication, interpersonal and facilitation skills as well as excellent organization, time management, and priority setting skills are critical to the success of this position.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree in psychology or a health-related field
- At least two years of clinical research experience is required, which has garnered you an understanding of research policies and procedures
- Experience and demonstrated skill in administering psychological assessments and following standardized administration/scoring procedures during assessments, parental interviews, and questionnaires is strongly preferred
- Broad knowledge of neurodevelopmental disorders will be considered assets
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to function independently, and yet collaboratively, within a research team
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Demonstrated computer software skills (including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel)
Responsibilities:
- Recruitment and scanning of children/youth/young adults/older adults using MRI
- Preparation of research ethics proposals and amendments
- Preparation of reports on milestones, achievements, etc.
- Ordering supplies and equipment, and basic tracking of study finances
- Providing continuity and acting as a source of information for research participants and their families
- Taking considerable responsibility for day-to-day running of research protocol
- Exercising moderate independent judgment and decision-making using established policies and procedures to resolve technical problems
- Following established guidelines, procedures, and standards
- Initiate and maintain research files that will include original consent, documentation, general correspondence, and data collection forms
- Perform participant interviews, assessments or interventions as required by study protocols
