Primary focus is to oversee research activities — including participant recruitment, enrollment, and IRB correspondence — for a clinical trial funded by the National Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society to investigate the combined effects of cognitive rehabilitation and exercise training on cognition and brain function in persons with MS who also have mobility disability. Additionally, will help recruit for a pilot study funded by the Consortium of MS Centers to investigate the effects of cycling with virtual reality on processing speed in persons with MS who also have mobility disability.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, health sciences, communications, or management (e.g., Psychology, HR Management, Public Health, Marketing, Advertising).
- Experience communicating with people with disabilities and/or other chronically ill populations and/or their families.
- Excellent communication, organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Very strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong ability to work both independently and collaborate with a team.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with recruitment of persons with neurological disorders for research studies.
- Experience in a clinical/research setting working with people with disabilities and/or other chronically ill populations and/or their families.
- Experience with project/study coordination and working closely with a Principal Investigator/team leader.
- Master’s degree in social sciences, health sciences, communications, or management (e.g., Psychology, HR Management, Public Health, Marketing, Advertising).
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate participant recruitment, enrollment, and scheduling for two simultaneous studies.
- Facilitate participant engagement by meeting with local neurologists/neurology clinic personnel and leaders of local non-profit organizations and support groups to promote both research projects.
- Develop promotional material for both projects for broad dissemination.
- Communicate effectively with doctors to ascertain the appropriate medical records.
- Prepare reports on recruitment and enrollment status for each study to be presented at internal lab meetings, in progress reports, and in external publications.
