Description:
JOB SUMMARY:
The Department of Pediatrics is seeking a Research Coordinator to support the research activities in the division of Pediatric Hematology-Oncology. The goal of the ongoing and planned research is to help move childhood cancer research from the lab to the clinic “farther and faster”. This position will support multiple administrative, regulatory, financial, and coordinating efforts. This position will be responsible for organization, efficiency, tracking, and facilitation of the many administrative and collaborative needs of the faculty and researchers in this program, team, and their collaborative colleagues.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Experience using computer software to coordinate research activities (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WebEx, etc.)
- Effective oral and written communication skills, independent problem solving and analytical skills, attention to detail and organization
Preferred:
- Experience working in an academic medical center and/or biomedical research center
- Experience working in clinical/research in the area of pediatric and/or hematology/oncology (cancer)
- Experience working with research processes and/or related administration in a higher education environment
Responsibilities:
Supports the development, design, and implementation of research projects according to plans, under the general direction of faculty and/or senior research personnel, following established protocols and guidelines to support and advance research in a given field under general supervision.
- 10% Assists with conducting experiments or interviews, collecting and analyzing data, and documenting results according to established protocols
- 15% Assists in composing and organizing research reports and manuscripts to provide updates on unit objectives
- 30% Schedules logistics and secures resources for research supplies, equipment, and facilities
- 15% Tracks supply and equipment inventory levels and places replenishment orders
- 10% Maintains organization of research records according to established policies and procedures
- 10% Maintains CVs and biographical sketches, publications, abstracts and submitted research-related documents. Responds to internal and external requests for research collaborations and provision of required/requested documents.
- 10% Other research-related duties as assigned
