Join the Antitrust Section of the California Department of Justice!
The Antitrust Law Section (Section) is responsible for civil and criminal enforcement of California’s antitrust laws. The Section works closely with other states and with federal antitrust enforcement agencies to ensure that anti-competitive and unfair business practices, such as price-fixing, are prevented and stopped. The Section investigates potential antitrust violations, analyzes mergers and acquisitions, and litigates cases in both state and federal courts.

Work on a variety of important and exciting competition policy issues. As such, the Antitrust Economist position, has a wide range of responsibilities, including: utilizing economic theory and conducting quantitative and qualitative analyses to address competition issues and make policy recommendations; assisting attorneys in evaluating economic evidence during the course of an investigation, litigation or settlement; locating and working with outside economic experts to conduct expert economic analysis; testifying on behalf of the Department (where appropriate); and cooperating with and, in some cases, providing analyses to other state Attorney General offices and federal regulatory agencies including the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission.
