Global industry extracts trillions of litres of water each day with very little ability to recycle and reuse this water. Aquafortus is an innovative technology company poised to disrupt the industry and is at the forefront of research, development, and deployment of high-recovery industrial water remediation technologies. The team at Aquafortus works with the biggest names in global industry.
We are currently looking for a Research and Development Chemist to join our Chemistry team. The Research and Development Chemist is primarily responsible for actively developing and proving/disproving technology theories and the advancement of the Aquafortus’ chemistry through relevant investigations to ensure commercial success and a competitive innovative edge.
The Research and Development Chemist collaborates with the Process Chemists and Chemical Process Engineers to ensure the direction of the research is relevant and the Aquafortus chemistry remains robust, relevant, and competitive through patents and cutting-edge research.
This is a laboratory and office-based role focused on the further development of the company’s novel chemical technology. This includes generating data and information related to new developments for future patents. The Research and Development chemist reports to the Chief Technical Officer and the relevant Team Leader.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Masters or PhD in Chemistry with 2+ years’ experience in a commercial laboratory.
  • Experience working with chemical processes and a variety of laboratory instruments.
  • Ability to follow chemistry methods and write them.
  • A research and development application focus.
  • Ability to model data and determine trends.
  • Ability to work independently without supervision.
  • Team player with a positive attitude that can put the team ahead of self-interest.
  • Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Competent in Microsoft office suite.
  • Good time management and organisation skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English for the preparation and presentation of reports.
