Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The H. Milton Stewart School of Industrial and Systems Engineering invites applications for a Research Engineer II (REII) position. This position will perform research that primarily focuses on applying large-scale optimization and machine learning to critical applications in power systems, logistics and supply chains, resilience and sustainability, and circuit design and control. The selected candidate will work with the Socially Aware Mobility Lab (SAM Lab) and the Artificial Intelligence Institute for Advances Optimization (AI4OPT). The selected candidate is to conduct research, supervise PhD students, and manage projects with academic and industrial partners.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree, or
  • A Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral Degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred candidates will possess a Ph.D. with course work and thesis focused on AI and optimization. Experience in overseeing PhD students and managing research projects with milestones is preferred.
