As a University of Applied Learning, SIT works closely with industry in our research pursuits. Our research staff will have the opportunity to be equipped with applied research skill sets that are relevant to industry demands while working on research projects in SIT.
Future ship and system design (FSSD) program develop strategic and innovative design capabilities for maritime industry in Singapore and beyond.
The work package WP2.2 in FSSD will conduct the research in the areas of design FMECA, functional FMECA, advanced sensing techniques, sensor and operation data fusion, data analytics and machine learning algorithms for electrical vessels condition monitoring, fault diagnosis and early fault prediction.
The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver on Ship-level intelligent Equipment Health Monitoring (EHM) and will be part of the research team in the FSSD program.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Have relevant competence in the areas of sensing or data analytics or equipment health management.
  • Have a degree in EE/ICT, or mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of equipment health management and programming will be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in and manage the research project with Principal Investigator (PI), Co-PI and the research team members to ensure all project deliverables are met.
  • Undertake these responsibilities in the project:i. To develop the component level generic Equipment health management (EHM) that use sensor-based and operational data.ii. To develop the ship level EHM that integrates the components EHM into the system EHM.
  • Carry out Risk Assessment, and ensure compliance with Work, Safety and Health Regulations.
  • Work independently, as well as within a team, to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment.
