POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly enthusiastic Research Intern to join our Process Development (PD) team. PD forms a crucial link between R&D and the final clinical cell product and in this highly exploratory field continued optimization of the cell product is further developed. This work will support the development of a clinical manufacturing process for engineered T cells with patient-derived neo-antigen specific TCRs. This entails optimizing and translating research protocols into clinical grade compliant procedures.
In this internship, you will learn about immunology principles and assays, gain experience with cell culturing, T cell gene editing tools (e.g. CRISPR-Cas9), bioprocess development, cGMP manufacturing and flow cytometry. You will report to a Scientist and be mentored by Research Associates in the PD group to experience first-hand what the day-to-day life of an industry researcher is. This is a full-time internship.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • You will have the chance to improve your organizational and record keeping skills.
  • You will have the opportunity to learn the interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills necessary for a very collaborative environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • You are currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in related scientific discipline.
  • Previous experience with cell culture and flow cytometry is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the design, execution and support of laboratory studies for development, optimization, and manufacturing of genome engineered TCR T cell product.
  • Execute and support analytical methods for process development studies.
  • Support experimental designs, planning, execution, analysis, and reporting results of process development studies.
  • Present obtained results in internal work discussions.
