Description:
SUMMARY
Dr. Matthew O’Meara with the University of Michigan Department of Computational Medicine & Bioinformatics is seeking a Research Lab Tech Senior to provide technical lab support by performing complex laboratory and research related tasks. Acts as specialist on laboratory methods and equipment functions. Performs a variety of tests requiring a high degree of proficiency. Troubleshoots problems and recommends solutions. Evaluates experiment results using statistical and multivariate analysis. May instruct a laboratory academic section in laboratory techniques, instruments, methods, and procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*
Bachelor’s degree in pharmaceutical chemistry, biophysics, or related field.
1-2 years experience
Responsibilities:
- Computational modeling proteins for in silico biosensors. The resulting models will be the basis for generating small molecule bioactivity fingerprints for broad use in drug discovery.
- The position will be doing fundamental research on the specificity and selectivity of proteins - ligand interactions.
