An exciting opportunity for a Research Nurse or Clinical Trial Practitioner to join the Improving Black Health Outcomes Study, part of the NIHR BioResource based at University College London Hospital, UCLH.
Do you want to provide exceptional care and be involved in revolutionising the genetics data we have for the Black population?
Health research studies have rarely focused on the specific health needs and experiences of people from Black communities. This can be problematic since the findings might not always apply to everyone equally. As a result, people from Black communities have often not benefitted from advances in health research. By creating the IBHO BioResource we hope to change this, so that in future, when researchers find something important, for example, a gene that relates to a health condition, we can be sure that this is true for Black communities too.
We are looking to recruit highly motivated individuals, who are able to work autonomously as well as part of a team, to recruit participants to the study and take samples.
This role will be based across UCLH and North Middlesex University Hospital where you will have key working relationships with both sites. You will be managed by the S ickle Cell and T halassemia A lliance for R esearch senior Nurse (STAR Nurse) who also works across sites.
