Research Nurse – Band 5-6 Development Post - HIGH team
An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as a research nurse within the HIV, Immunology, Gastroenterology and Hepatology (HIGH) Research Team. We are an experienced team offering a friendly and supportive environment in which to work and develop. We deliver and support commercial and non-commercial research trials in all 4 areas, covering both inpatient and outpatient settings.
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated nurse who has an interest in clinical research delivery. The applicant must be organised and able to adapt to a dynamic work environment. This role requires the nurse to work as part of a small team and working autonomously at times.
If applying as a band 5 then there is the potential for career progression to a band 6 dependant upon experience.

The post is full time, fixed term for 2 year’s and may be extended subject to funding, however this would not be guaranteed.

The primary role of the post holder will be to facilitate the delivery of the team’s research studies, following the guidance in the study protocol and under the supervision of the Senior Research Nurse and Principal Investigator (PI).
The post holder will ensure that patients experience the highest care standards throughout their research experience in line with the trusts vision, policies and procedures.
The post holder will help support the set-up, maintenance, and close down of research studies in accordance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and local, national, and international legislation.

THE POST ENTAILS:

Assessing patients’ suitability to participate in research
Explaining research studies to participants and relatives
Receiving informed consent
Clinical skills e.g venepuncture, cannulation, IV and s/c administration , ECG
Co-ordination of study visits
Accurate data collection and data entry
Collaboration with the Multi-Disciplinary Team
The role is based in the Research & Development (R&D) team at North Bristol NHS Trust.
