Job Description
An excellent opportunity is available for a Research Officer to join the ACRF Cancer Biology and Stem Cells division at Australia’s pre-eminent biomedical research institute.
About the position
The role of Research Officer is to contribute to the research effort and further develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects within the research program to which they are appointed. The Research Officer will focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms that underpin cancer initiation and progression. The position will involve breast cancer biology, developing mouse models of tumour development, establishment of tissue assays and use of multimodal molecular technologies. Research Officers are expected to be self-motivated and to operate with minimal supervision under the general direction of the Laboratory Head.

Selection Criteria

  • A relevant doctoral qualification or equivalent
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • An excellent academic record and achievements
  • Demonstrated ability and potential for excellence and productivity in research
  • Research experience that has resulted in publications, conference papers or reports
  • Proven interpersonal and collaborative skills in achieving research outcomes

Terms of appointment
This position is available for two years in a full-time capacity. Salary is RE A6 - RE A8 ($101,039 - $108,453). Up to 17% superannuation and very attractive salary packaging options are available.
