Join a team of researchers as an individual contributor to design, develop, execute and implement scientific research projects to fuel Intel’s growth in the areas of wireless communications and sensing. Develops systems, technologies and algorithms for joint sensing and communications using wireless communications technologies such as Wi-Fi, radar, etc. Develops concepts, PoCs and technologies typically 3+ years prior to landing on a product roadmap. Plans and executes laboratory research. Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the art principles and theories and contributes to scientific literature and conferences. May participate in development of intellectual property. May coordinate interdepartmental activities and research efforts with universities. Typically holds a PhD.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or any related field
Experience developing radar transceivers, Wi-Fi systems, MIMO communications, communications waveforms
- Research background in Joint Communication and sensing (JCAS) networks
- Experience with building simulators and PoC development for demos and evaluating the performance of wireless networks
- Proper handling of research data including but not limited to documentation, software code, and software tools according to data management policies of the project
- Excellent documentation, verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with consortiums and research organizations
- Problem solving skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with 5G-PPP projects (e.g., 5G-VICTORI, 5G-COMPLETE, 5G-CLARITY) and Smart Networks and Services Joint Understanding (SNS JU) projects (e.g., BGREENm, TERRAMETA, CENTRIC)
- Experience with machine learning/deep learning algorithms applied to wireless communications and/or sensing usages
- Experience in python, AI/ML tools, C/C++, Matlab is highly desirable
