The Firm
I am currently supporting a US law firm in their search for a Research Specialist to join their team in their London office.
The Role
Joining the Global Research Services team, you will work on conducting non-legal research across different areas such as corporate and financial transactions, intellectual property, and litigation. The position involves providing research support to the Firm’s fee earner and business services population.
Using critical thinking to analyse each request and identify the best research resources for efficient and cost-effective solutions
Maintaining the hardcopy collection as part of the Research Services team.
Getting involved in ad hoc projects and other administrative tasks.
Assisting with new joiner orientations and training.
What Do You Need?
Strong level of knowledge using tools such as Westlaw Edge, Lexis+ UK and Practical Law, as well as specialised tools such as Capital IQ, Debtwire, Filings Expert, FromCounsel, MergerMarket, Newsdesk, Orbis, Preqin, Reorg, Solomonic, Vable etc.
You will have strong level of proficiency in research, including selecting resources and search strategies. Presents research results in a clear, logical manner with suggestions for further research if relevant.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the ability to work under tight deadlines to manage multiple projects.
Ideal candidate will be dynamic, proactive with a degree (bachelor’s or masters) in library science, business or law.
