Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is for a part-time research technician to work on research projects related to Black women and girls’ wellness within the context of families and schools. Specifically, the research technician will assist with a project related to Black undergraduate women’s STEM retention.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Prior research experience in a psychology research lab, though relevant coursework or research in related fields might count toward experience.
- Expertise with Microsoft suite (Excel and PowerPoint) and willingness to learn basic commands in SPSS (i.e., descriptive statistics).
- Previous experience working with Black communities.
- Strong organizational, and planning skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Get along well with graduate students and undergraduate students working as research assistants within the lab.
- Able to work as part of a team.
- Able to work independently and take initiative on array of projects and duties each day.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with survey and interview protocol design.
- Assist with qualitative data collection.
- Assist with participant recruitment for the Black Women Thriving Study.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
