We are looking for a highly motivated electronics research technician to join our international research team at the Institute for Diabetes and Obesity (IDO) of the Helmholtz Diabetes Center (HDC) in Munich. Your tasks

  • Design, construction, and installation of a microscopy platform for in vivo imaging of calcium kinetics in cells and tissue slides
  • Operation and maintenance of imaging systems
  • Writing of software for scientific equipment
  • Troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of electronic and scientific equipment used in a variety of experiments (e.g., luminescence and fluorescence plate readers, extracellular flux analyzer, robotic stations, standard chemical laboratory apparatus, temperature controllers, centrifuges, and water bath)
  • Organization and maintenance of laboratory stocks in liquid nitrogen tanks
  • Training of laboratory members

Your profile

  • Diploma in electrical and electronic engineering, or equivalent
  • Good knowledge of physics and electrical systems
  • Good verbal and written communication in German
  • Self-motivation, initiative and dependability as a team player
  • Willingness to learn new laboratory techniques and work with mouse models
