The
Grainger Lab
is seeking a full-time Research Technician to be a key part of our research team. The research focus of our lab explores the molecular and cellular mechanisms of hematopoietic stem cell development, cancer and Wnt signaling. Work in the laboratory is conducted across multiple levels, including in vitro assays, mammalian cell lines, and zebrafish models.

In this role, you will be provided training for the following responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and handling cell cultures
  • Molecular and cell biology techniques (i.e. plasmid cloning, Western blots, qRT-PCR)
  • Genotyping
  • Assisting with general laboratory maintenance
  • Detailed record keeping and adherence to protocols

Successful candidates for this position will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Cell/Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related biomedical fields
  • At least one (1) year of wet lab bench experience is preferred, but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and patience
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as an active member of an integrated team
  • Demonstrable written and oral communication skills
