EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma.
  • 3-5 years experience in agriculture preferred, with emphasis on data collection and statistics; general livestock background
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel spreadsheet, access data base, pivot tables and graphs.
  • Detail oriented, organized, ability to communicate clearly with work crews and management.

Responsibilities:

SUMMARY AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collection, organization, and analysis of data relating to in house/contract research, feedlot production, and cow-calf production for the Simplot Land & Livestock Group.
  • Organize and maintain dairy heifer, feedlot, and cow/calf health and performance records.
  • Assist protocol and compliance.
  • Assist to develop budgets for in house/contract research projects.
  • Quality control of fine details of research and other projects
  • Sample collection, preparation, and submission
  • Field data collection
  • Veterinary assistance
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data systems including software and hardware packages.
  • Prepare and maintain electronic equipment. ie GrowSafe, Tenxsys, etc.
  • Summarize and document project results.
  • Participate in genetic evaluation and assisted reproductive technologies.
