The primary role of this position is to provide students with a positive experience of campus life through an enhanced residential life experience and to support Curtin’s objectives of enhancing students’ life in an environment that celebrates diversity, social awareness and responsible citizenship.
The incumbent will manage the entire daily operations of Residence division from monitoring budget, providing quality service, adherence to policies and procedures, to managing the team under the supervision of the Manager- Retail, Residence and Fleet.
Clients of Residence division include students (undergraduate and post graduate, domestic and international), staff, property landlords and other external clients.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor activities in order to achieve timely and efficient outcome leading to excellent customer service under the area.
- Responsible for the smooth and efficient daily operation of the service area; room booking and allocation, check in and check out, key registry, handling and maintaining residence’s properties and facilities.
- Process student refunds in accordance to Housing refund policies.
- Receive and issue receipts for all Housing related fees.
- Process and give recommendations for student’s appeals.
- Focal person for purchasing (E-PRF) and Fixed Asset management.
- Manage and coordinate official and unofficial communication to residents.
- Manage the promotion of properties including resident’s engagement activities.
- Provide leadership and direction to a team and mediates conflict occurring across work units, while providing support and advise to other work areas.
- Monitor monthly profit and loss and ensure proper financial management in accordance with approved budget.
- Monitor occupancy rate to ensure maximization of revenue and occupancy for all properties - outsourced properties are to meet the minimum agreed occupancy rate.
- Handle and resolve resident complaints and requests in a professional manner, ensuring prompt actions at all times.
- Oversees and update the Housing Services website content in a timely manner.
- Assist the Manager in providing input and operational advice for the development of new on-campus student accommodation.
