QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited American Dental School with N.J.
  • Residency Permit Required

Essential Functions:

  • The resident will provide to the best of his/her ability outpatient and inpatient dental care and consultative services to all patients who desire such treatment and are determined to be physically, psychologically and medically able to undergo such care,
  • aThe residents will attend all lectures, conferences and seminars and will be prepared to make meaningful contributions,
  • Emergency patients are treated in a competent, caring manner as the situation arises,
  • The residents must be flexible to allow for the treatment of emergencies,
  • The residents will cooperate with and be prepared to work with all attending staff members,
  • The resident will be immediately available when on-call for 24-hour treatment of dental emergencies when requested,
  • The resident will participate in all oral health screenings, patient education seminars, and all community education programs as assigned,
  • Residents will coordinate patient treatment with other Medical Departments, physicians and ancillary services,
  • In situational leadership, the resident demonstrates the ability to respond positively to changing circumstances so as to maximize the opportunity or minimize the problem,
  • He/she acts decisively and takes effective action,
  • The resident carries out the principles of positive guest relations by maintaining a good rapport and a cooperative working relationship with all patients and fellow workers,
  • Applies knowledge of growth and development over the life span,
  • Applies knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in his or her assigned unit. i,e, infant, adult, pediatric, geriatric and adolescent,
  • Asses data reflective of each patient’s status and interprets information needed in order to identify each patient’s age requirements relative to his or her age specific health care needs
