SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Possess broad post-registration experience, particularly in aged care.
  • Manage health care and understand current concepts of aged care service delivery.
  • Maintain a sound knowledge of the Aged Care Act and Accreditation Standards for residential aged care.
  • Handle financial management, including Commonwealth funding and AN – ACC Funding Model.
  • Implement Quality Management, Continuous Improvement, and Best Practices in aged care.
  • Develop staff and manage organisational behaviour and change strategies.
  • Understand and show sensitivity to the needs of older people.
  • Think critically, innovatively and creatively about service provision.
  • Exhibit strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team effectively and build strong working relationships.

As the ROM, you will oversee the facility’s operations inclusive of financial drivers such as budget compliance and funding optimisation, while accurately assessing resident acuity for optimal staffing levels and skill matching. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure residents’ needs are met, considering individual, cultural, linguistic, and social backgrounds.
  • Conduct facility activities through consultation with residents, families, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Seek regular feedback from residents and their significant others about service quality.
  • Approve residential entries and ensure AN – ACC assessments meet statutory timelines and reflect resident acuity.
  • Provide supportive leadership to ensure residents receive quality care and enjoy a quality life meeting their assessed needs and preferences.
  • Support staff in maintaining and improving knowledge and skills through regular training.
  • Drive leadership and professional standards through appropriate delegation and sound human resource management.
  • Lead teams in delivering high-performance, customer-focused service to achieve business objectives.
