    We have an exciting opportunity for a Residential Support Worker to join the Hope Springs team! The position is full time, working a rotation roster of 4 days on day shifts , 2 days off and followed by 4 days of night shifts

Responsibilities:

  • Knowledge and promotion of the Therapeutic Community model of recovery for drug & alcohol residential treatment.
  • Application and maintenance of Therapeutic Community fundamentals:
  • Community as Method
  • Staged Approach
  • Holistic & Multidimensional approach
  • Encounter system
  • Knowledge and use of data gathering tools as well as assessment instruments
  • Ensure client records are updated and current, using the Client Management System and hardcopy client files where necessary.
  • Understanding Social Learning vs. Didactic learning (teacher-centred method of instruction in which teachers deliver and students receive lessons)
  • Maintaining accurate client records in various formats, including in the Client Management System
  • Understanding the relationship between Belonging and Individuality
  • Understanding and Discouraging the “We-They” Dichotomy
