    Job Description
    We are looking for a Leader with energy, enthusiasm and creativity. This individual will lead a team that delivers on the promise and experience of Lake Louise. Reporting to the Director of Resort Activities. The Resort Activities Manager will oversee Kids Programming, Group Programming, Guide program, Track Setting, Health Club in conjunction with working closely with the Concierge team and Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post Secondary education in the form of diploma or degree preferred
  • Operational knowledge of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Silverware, Opera and Property manager
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Event management or guiding experience considered an asset

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operation of the Health Club and fitness programs and equipment
  • Responsible for coordination with the Kids Camp Supervisor, year round kids programming and special events
  • Responsible for the development and communication of all Group Programming that can be used by Sales to offer to Groups.
  • Responsible for the Cross Country ski program and offering during winter.
  • Responsible for the coordination of track setting for the Cross Country ski program and coordinating the resources to ensure 17 km’s of responsibility is maintained to standards.
  • Responsible for working with the Concierge team to promote and sell activities in Lake Louise and area.
  • Responsible for working with the Guide Program to expand programming, assist in tracking of numbers, both attendance and financial.
  • Develop strong relationships with our Sales, Conference Services and Public Relations team to develop programs and ensure their success.
  • Ensure promotion of Resort Activities throughout the hotel through effective communication.
  • Creation of Operational Budgets for the Health Club and Resort Activities departments including assisting with the Guide Programming revenues, along with expenses, staffing levels and productivity.
  • Assisting with tracking of Guide revenues and statistics.
  • Establish and monitor effective goals and measurements for the department (GSI, EOS, GOP, H&S, EES).
  • Effective recruitment, selection and training of Dept. Supervisors.
  • Review industry trends for new and innovative product and service opportunities.
  • Ensure that Guest and Colleague concerns are resolved in a professional and timely manner.
  • Coach and mentor colleagues. Creating an environment that allows colleagues to exceed guest expectations and provide a path for career development with Fairmont Hotels and Resorts.
  • Maximization of revenues and effective cost control.
  • Maintain divisional efficiency/productivity.
  • Responsible for Crisis management and BCP plans for the department.
  • Make recommendations for capital expenditure.
  • Involved in the development and execution of hotel wide five-year strategic plans.
  • Effective and timely interaction with all Hotel departments including participation and representation in hotel wide meetings /committees as required.
  • Execute Health & Safety mandate including WCB policies and practices.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with business partners.
  • Proven ability to effectively lead, teach, coach and inspire your team.
  • Strong guest service orientation and training skills background.
  • Highly motivated, organized, goal and results oriented individual who thrives under pressure.
  • Effective tracking and follow up skills.
  • Compliance with all safety regulations of assigned tasks and ensure a clean and safe working environment with active participation in the hotel health and safety program.
  • Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required.
  • Departmental payroll administration.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.
