JOB PURPOSE

In this role you will have responsibility for the end-to-end recruitment life cycle for a number of vacancies across a specified (Academic/Professional Services/Research) staff category, demonstrating strong process management expertise and multi-channel candidate sourcing whilst promoting an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review, finalise and implement the recruitment plan, including providing advice and guidance on recruitment policy, procedure and process, approach to advertising/attraction, selection tools and interview format. Ensure the plan is compliant from both an internal process and legal/regulatory perspective and work with college/school recruitment administration contacts to deliver a smooth, professional, and timely service and process for all involved.
  • Work in partnership with the Local Resourcing Coordinator to understand the requirements of each vacancy, ensure all job description details and persons specifications are entered in a relevant format and are of the required standard and appropriate to the role. Provide first draft of recruitment adverts for generic roles for review by Hiring Manager.
  • Work closely and onsite when appropriate with Hiring Managers, HR Business Partners and Local Resourcing Coordinators, providing support and guidance where necessary and keeping vacancies on course with the resourcing strategy outlined and agreed within the recruitment plan. Seek opportunities to strengthen professional relationships with key stakeholders and identify opportunities to raise the profile of recruitment services available to them.
  • Proactively partner with relevant colleagues to find the best possible candidates for the assigned job vacancies. In addition, support each candidate throughout the recruitment cycle process, from facilitating candidates with the correct information on preparing applications and attendance for interview, through to providing advice and guidance on process, including feedback to unsuccessful candidates as required.
  • Manage the interview process, ensuring candidates and Appointing Committee members are kept up to date with all confirmations and amendments. Communicate and issue in a timely manner the interview documentation including interview packs, candidate presentations and any other candidate requirements, e.g. reasonable adjustments/ technology required, providing direct advice and guidance on these matters as required.
  • Manage the initial conditional offer process to the preferred candidate, liaising with the Local Resourcing Coordinator to ensure all required approvals and documentation are received prior to making an offer. Manage the offer negotiation process to conditional acceptance and notify the Local Resourcing Coordinator and Onboarding Team on the successful candidate’s acceptance for onward contract issue, accurately and timeously updating the e-recruitment system at each stage of the process. Provide appropriate candidate feedback when requested ensuring a positive and consistent candidate experience.
  • Input, update and maintain accurate recruitment records on the recruitment database in line with policy and procedural requirements, data protection legislation and other relevant regulatory requirements, e.g. UKVI, working effectively as a team to ensure common drives are maintained in an effective and efficient manner which aids information provision/access and excellent service delivery.
  • Provide reports and data analysis as required, proactively sharing information about recruitment trends and identifying areas where continuous improvement would be beneficial. Undertake all necessary administration in relation to the recruitment process.
  • Maintain and apply a continuing knowledge of relevant policies, particularly UKVI and recruitment compliance issues, providing guidance and advice as required to client groups and candidates.
  • Maintain privacy, confidentiality, and security of recruitment information, maintaining a high degree of confidentiality throughout the recruitment process.
  • Work as part of a multi-skilled team, to contribute to the smooth running of the recruitment service and wider HR service in times of team absence or where workloads are particularly high.
