About the Project - The Humanitarian Logistics Capability (HLC) contract is a partnership between The Palladium Group and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The HLC programme itself supports the Australian Government’s international disaster relief efforts through the provision of logistical support, disaster relief procurement, and timely technical advice. The HLC team achieves these outcomes through the provision of high quality, multifaceted, flexible, and responsive humanitarian supply chain solutions.
About the role - The Response Lead is critical to the implementation and support of the Australian Government’s disaster response activities The role reports to the Response Manager and is based in Pinkenba, until 30th June 2025, with a possibility of extension.

Responsibilities:

Provide leadership, support and direction to field support operations and teams involved humanitarian response activities, from project start up to close.
Lead client liaison throughout the entirety of the given Humanitarian Response, managing HLC communications between the client (DFAT) and all relevant stakeholders including humanitarian partners and Australian Defense Force representatives.
Obtain freight and transport rates from agents, support and place air and sea bookings direct with carriers, airlines, and consolidators as well as applicable export and import documentation.
Assist to quote, develop, and manage project budgets, while monitoring timelines and delivery expectations of multiple projects.
Manage project implementation with a strong focus on response planning and contract management requirements;
Contribute to engagement with DFAT and operational partners on strategic HLC delivery;
Ensure accurate reporting;
warehousing, freight movements as well as emergency response coordination;
Assist in business development activities,;
Flexibility to act as a Duty Officer or Point of Contact for HLC operations.
