Retail Assistant - General Store Assistant

We have had a unique position created without our store called a “Retail Assistant”. Unlike the rest of our staff and employees who are rostered to and employed in definite Departments, this role is to report to the Assistant Store Manager and work with them by being assigned to different areas or Departments to work in during your work week. Is it Meat Week in Butchery? You may be assigned to help fill the cabinet! Does Click & Collect have a staff member away on leave? You may help out in Online!
The primary role of the Retail Assistant is to assist in the day-to-day running of whichever department you may assigned to. General Store Assistants work across all areas of the store including all Fresh Food Departments (Produce, Butchery, Seafood, Service Deli and Bakery), as well as all other departments including Grocery, Coldshelf/Frozen Foods, Trolleys, Customer Service and Storeroom. The role involves ensuring that a sufficient quantity and range of products are available for sale at the correct price at all times during opening hours as well as ensuring the department is well merchandised, clean, tidy and attractively presented.
The hours and days for this position are: Sunday to Thursday 12.30pm-9.00pm (40 hours per week)

• Serving customers
• Helping with stock movement in the Inwards Goods Department using pallet jacks
• Ensuring pricing and ticketing is correct
• Stocking shelves/displays in relevant Department - merchandising fruit, meat, hot chickens, bread, milk, ice cream
• Personal Shopping for Click & Collect
• Collecting customer trolleys
