Australia Zoo Supervisors contribute to the team by ensuring the smooth operations of all outlets. This role requires a high level of customer interaction, staff leadership, staff training and delegation. You will require good interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Mentor, motivate and support the Retail Customer Service team to ensure delivery is at a high level.
  • Monitor the team on a daily basis and create an exciting atmosphere for our guests as they arrive and throughout their day.
  • Assist the Retail Management team with conducting new staff induction and ongoing performance training and development reviews.
  • Support staff and guests to resolve any customer service issues or complaints.
  • Contribute to the development of policies, standards and procedures for all aspects of the retail department.
  • Ensure department policies and procedures are all up to date and regularly reviewed.
  • Ensure any area upgrades or maintenance concerns are appropriately reported.
  • Assist store supervisors with maintaining stock levels throughout all outlets and ensuring stock cycle counts are regularly scheduled and completed.
  • Inventory and POS systems operation.
  • Cash handling, balance and count float, and perform scheduled clearances as needed.
  • Responsible for ensuring all opening and closing procedures are followed (for example; locking gates, closing POS systems).
  • Have the ability to build and establish strong relationships with key stakeholders, local businesses, suppliers and community groups, as required.
  • Assist the Retail Buyer with inventory management, including creating purchase orders, receiving stock, transferring stock and cycle count processes.
  • Assist Retail Management team with staff rosters/timesheets and daily organisation of the teams’ duties/breaks to ensure compliance with the Award.
