JOB DESCRIPTION

Participates in the identification, design, development and implementation of assigned projects. Assigned projects may be general or systems related in nature. Interfaces with internal and external resources to ensure successful and timely completion in accordance with user needs. Participates in training users and evaluating the project. Manages performance of the project team and evaluates overall team performance.

As part of the Physical Asset Optimization (PAO) team, the Retail Design Manager helps to implement and design retail/branch remodels while ensuring adherence to the design playbook. Responsibility to ensure work aligns with our brand standards, enhance customer experiences, and drive business objectives. This role requires a creative thinker with strong project management skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of retail branch projects, including both general and systems/process-related initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Interact with internal and external colleagues, including architects, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies, to ensure successful and timely project completion.
  • Manage immediate design team’s performance, effectiveness, and workload, providing guidance, feedback, and support as needed.
  • Oversee the creation of design concepts, presentations, and documentation of continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to inform design decisions and project strategies.

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 10 or more years of experience in project management activities
  • Two or more years of managerial experience

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Expert knowledge of assigned business line or functional area
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of project management
  • Ability to identify and resolve exceptions and to analyze data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • NCIDQ certification
  • Previous experience with commercial or residential design
  • Previous experience in project and vendor management
  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to retail design and construction.
  • Ability to travel as needed for site visits, meetings, and project-related activities.

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there’s an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
