Responsibilities:

The Retail HR Assistant is responsible for:

  • Being the first point of contact for HR queries and issues for all retail staff, including those based in field locations. This requires regular travel to stores, and face to face contact with store managers and the wider retail team.
  • Appropriately escalating any HR issues to the People Advisor and/or People Manager.
  • Supporting the Head of Retail and Area Manager with HR advice.
  • Ability to make decisions, keeping in mind the brand’s values and ethics, and making sure these are clearly communicated.
  • Being available for all retail staff to discuss concerns and provide advice that aligns with Company policies and culture.
  • Advertising, short listing, attending and evaluating first interviews for all levels of store staff.
  • Ensuring company HR policies are adhered to fairly, and supporting store managers to ensure that they are up to date with current expectations.
  • Attending disciplinaries and appeals, ensuring accurate minutes are recorded and filed.
  • Ensuring outcomes from disciplinaries and appeals are actioned in appropriate time frames.
  • Delivering training and providing documentation on practical tasks to all staff based in stores.
  • Setting deadlines for remote training, tracking progress and actively ensuring targets are met.
