YOUR TEAM

This is a senior role within The Retail Technology team. A diverse and exciting team covering all areas of technology within our UK & I retail estate. You will be responsible for leading the team tasked with delivering the product strategy, executing multiple roadmaps and being the main interaction point between Product and Technology teams (internal and 3rd parties). Using best practice techniques, you will be responsible for delivering business value and raising support standards.
We are looking for a dedicated, flexible and adaptable person who can prioritise commercial and business objectives. You will have a good technical background with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely with technical and non-technical audiences. You will understand our retail business channel and the challenges our customers face daily, how you could improve their experiences in conjunction with developing an established functional team of five.
We are responsible for all Level 2 Support of the Paddy Power Retail estate, this includes ensuring stability of our systems, planning the introduction of new technology and releases into the estate, and managing all bugs we find in our stores and backend systems.

The team is the centre point of everything that comes through Retail IT, we play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all support, projects, and releases across our retail estate.

Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Supervise training, assist with identifying areas for team development and assist with appraisal of staff for performance
  • Have excellent knowledge of our entire technical stack with specific expertise in your own team area. Confidently advise when other teams come to you with complex technical decisions
  • Measuring the MTBF and MTTR across each of our platforms, by testing and documenting DR scenarios across all products.
  • Managing bugs and outages, report against it month on month
  • Support and develop technical solutions or processes for our technology and future architecture while contributing to our innovation, both from a tech and business growth perspective
  • Establish and maintain successful partnering with internal functions i.e. engineering, product, design, risk and trading, operations and other group functions
  • Working with our audit and security teams to reduce risks, security vulnerabilities and identifying single point of failure in our stacks.
  • Relationship building and manage all stakeholders (internal, external, business and technical)

HOW YOU’LL DO IT

  • Experienced Application Support Engineer (3-5 years)
