RETAIL LEASING MANAGER

Our client is known for their expertise in asset management, property development, and retail leasing, and looking to appoint a Retail Leasing Manager. The ideal candidate will come with 4 - 5 years of experience in retail leasing and a proven record of securing national, international, or niche tenants.
Kindly be advised that this position entails a temporary 12-month contract duration.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• National Senior Certificate.
• A relevant degree or diploma in Retail Management will be advantageous.
• Essential: Registered and hold an active FFC.
• Hold a SACSC Certificate.
• 4-5 years of proven expertise in retail leasing with a track record of success, including achieving leases with national, international, or niche tenants.
• Previous experience in retail leasing within a new development setting, managing centers exceeding 20,000m² in size.
• Valid Driver’s License.

• In charge of all leasing operations, including the review and negotiation of lease transactions and agreements.
• Responsible for leasing both existing and newly developed retail spaces to maintain and increase market share.
• Support leasing strategy and project direction.
• Manage retail unit rental for maximum occupancy and premium rental levels.
• Engage with tenants to maintain high-quality tenancy.
• Set and achieve budget rental income targets.
• Undertake direct leasing negotiations with prospective tenants.
• Prepare and review tenancy mix for optimum retail asset performance.
• Provide regular leasing progress reports to Divisional Director.
• Maximize rental income and lease terms through negotiations.
• Ensure leasing targets are met for existing portfolio and new developments.
• Activate leasing promptly to minimize vacancy downtime.
• Maintain relationships with tenants and industry professionals.
• Actively source and secure desired retailers.
• Maintain and review prospective tenant database.
• Conduct market research on new brands and retail trends.
• Monitor competitor developments, rentals, and major deals.
• Review and evaluate shopper profile mix impact on retail sector.
• Stay updated on market changes and build industry network.
• Manage tenant paperwork and lease documentation accurately.
• Oversee deals from inception to completion, including handover meetings.
