SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Experience of using SUN general ledger system (or equivalent)
• Experience of interrogating underwriting / servicing systems
• Reconciliations experience
• Experience of working in the Financial Services sector
• Mortgage lending experience preferable
• A strong aptitude for numbers and accountability
• Worked in a fast moving, medium sized organisation

THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

This role supports the CFO Retail Mortgage Brands in delivering the strategic, operational and financial objectives of The Mortgage Lender and Bluestone Mortgages.

Key activities include:

• Weekly product MI
• Pricing decision support - including hedge monitoring and allocation
• Product development - accounting
• Volume tracking, reporting and forecasting
• Operational capacity modelling and forecasting
• Budgeting and working with the business to identify and track cost savings and efficiencies
• Work with the CFO to ensure BML and TML (both FCA regulated) are well supported.
• Audit support
• BML/TML Exec level committee support
• Key contact during securitisations

In addition to the above BAU tasks the successful candidate will be expected to:

• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, regulators, and stakeholders, and provide timely and accurate information and documentation as required.
• Identify and resolve any accounting issues or discrepancies, and implement corrective actions and improvements as needed.
• Support the development and implementation of new accounting systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.
• Provide financial advice and guidance to the management and staff of the mortgage business, and assist in decision making and planning.
• The new role will contribute to the success and growth of the Retail Mortgage business by ensuring high-quality and reliable financial reporting and accounting services. The new role will also help to maintain and improve the financial performance, risk management, and compliance of the mortgage business, and support its strategic goals and objectives.
