Responsibilities:

Retail sits within our Communications and Income Generation Team and currently consists of seven retail outlets and an ecommerce department, our team work hard to raise awareness of our charity and raise vital funds to contribute to the cost of our care.
This role will manage all retail warehouse operations, supporting and leading a busy distribution operation from our largest premises, our Retail Hub.

Main duties will include:

  • Creating, planning and implementing an efficient stock control system for donated stock and new goods across all retail locations
  • Overseeing logistics of receiving, warehousing and dispatch operations
  • Responsibility for the physical movement of heavy furniture and electrical items at the Retail Hub and other settings, adhering to risk assessments and guidance
  • Assisting our drivers with preparation for appointments, including the loading and unloading of the vehicles, when required
  • Ensure scheduled inspections take place in line with health and safety requirements and are followed up where recommendations are made.
  • Co-ordinate and manage rotas for our van driver and volunteer drivers, ensuring sufficient cover in premises across the trading week.

Successful candidates will have previous experience of working in a warehouse or retail environment, with a good understanding of warehouse / retail processes and operations. It is also a requirement to have a basic knowledge of health & Safety and fire regulations and have a qualification in manual handling.
Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for candidates who are able to work on a rota basis over 7 days, this includes weekend working.
Please note that it is an essential requirement for the role to hold a UK van license as the postholder will be required to drive our company van.
This role is subject to a Basic level DBS check.
