Description:

The Revalidation and Appraisal manager will be responsible for ensuring that the Trust has a robust and efficient system for management of doctor’s appraisal and revalidation and registration, as required by the General Medical Council and national guidance.
You will manage all processes related to appraisal and revalidation and will work closely with senior clinicians and the trust Medical Director (Responsible Officer) to ensure all doctors have completed an appraisal, 360 degree review and are ready to revalidate.
You will also ensure that appraisals are of a high quality and meet national requirements.
Development and delivery of training will form a key part of this role, this will include training to all new appraisers and ensuring all appraisers receive regular feedback on the quality of their appraisals and are kept up to date with both trust and national requirements through delivery of ad-hoc and annual update sessions.
In this role you would be expected to work autonomously and manage your own workload, driving changes in line with national requirements and managing projects and system developments.
As a senior member of the medical workforce team you may also be expected to support projects and policy work related to medical terms and conditions and will be expected to support the team in documenting consultant interview panels.

Ensure effective appraisal and revalidation system in place and ensure this is continually reviewed in line with GMC/National guidance
Pro-actively monitor/manage/develop appraisal database to ensure all medical appraisals are completed within the required timeframes as set out by the Trust and any postponements agreed and documented.
Maintain accurate records on GMC Connect in relation to Trust doctors and ensure revalidation recommendations as directed by the Trust Responsible Officer (RO) are made prior to revalidation date.
Ensure all doctors have required appraisal and 360 degree feedback within the timeframes set by the Trust and in line with revalidation requirements.
Produce standard and ad-hoc reports including the annual appraisal board report
Maintain up-to date list of appraisers, ensure enough appraisers in post and be the lead to actively recruit new appraisers.
Develop, organise and deliver training at appraiser and appraisee training events and ensure that trends identified through QA are feedback to appraisers.
Our offices are at Preston Business Centre, we expect all the team to participate in the office rota 9-5pm (currently 1:8), as Revalidation and appraisal manager you may need to be on site more often depending on the needs of the role.
