Cortica is seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Cash Application Associate to join our growing multi-disciplinary team!

The base pay range for this opening is $20/hr to $24/hr. According to your skill level, relevant experience, education level, and location, you will receive compensation that fits appropriately within the range.

Responsibilities:

  • Post procedures and insurance/patient payments, balance to daily reports, claims submissions, ERA and EOB posting.
  • Prepare insurance/patient correspondence for coworkers by reviewing and batching for further attention and review.
  • Review and work insurance and patient overpayments, prepare refund request.
  • Keeping track of fee schedule trends/changes and updating the fee schedule if required.
  • Keeping track of denial trends to identify new billing rules/changes/requirements from payers.
  • Use Problem-solving skills to research and resolve discrepancies, denials, appeals, and collections.
  • Maintain superior, positive internal and external customer service relationships.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with families, providing on-site support, as well as email and phone support.
  • Plan and organize work effectively and ensure its completion.
  • Work with a tight-knit team in a fast- paced, high-growth environment.
  • Initiate inquires, either by phone, fax, internet or in writing, to health insurers and/or patients to resolve reimbursement and coverage issues.
  • Basic understanding of and ability to use basic software and systems including, but not limited to, electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office products; daily use of laptop and/or tablet for email, note taking, and other tasks required.
