Are you a finance and administrative professional who is passionate about supporting your community? We’re looking for a Revenue Officer to provide an efficient billing and collection revenue service.
As our Revenue Officer, you’ll be responsible for performing revenue functions in compliance with the City of Melville’s policies, procedures, and statutory requirements as directed.
Your role will also involve maintaining an accurate council/ratepayer database information system, ensuring all rates and debtors information is up to date and in compliance with relevant regulations. Your attention to detail and accuracy will be essential to your success in this role.
In addition to your primary responsibilities, you’ll be committed to providing high-quality customer service in all interactions with ratepayers and stakeholders as you will be their first point of contact with any revenue enquiries. You’ll be providing advice, support, and information in a timely and friendly manner – going above and beyond to ensure their needs are met and that they feel valued and supported.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience in a financial environment.
  • Sound experience in the provision of customer service.
  • Previous experience in account reconciliations.
  • Experience in the use of computerised databases, Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Sound problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Well developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Effective organisational, time management and attention to detail skills.
  • Knowledge of Local Government Rating or Accounts.
  • Knowledge of relevant industrial legislation and Local Acts.
  • Knowledge of computerised financial and property information systems (Pathway and Finance One desirable).

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • National Police Clearance Check (or willingness to obtain prior to appointment)
