- Permanent Contract available with a 35 hour working week

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- A developed understanding of the needs and perspectives of people with disabilities/severe injuries.
- Critical reasoning skills to ensure a high degree of integrity in the decision-making processes.
- Excellent communication skills – ability to build rapport and communicate complex information and create and nurture effective working relationships with all stakeholders.
- Capability to work in an ambiguous environment.
- Attendance at training and development events in any icare office is required.
- Maintain a current Working with Children Check.
- Up to date with current Public Health Order requirements
- Experience in relevant health or disability areas.
- Experience and/or understanding of CTP / Workers Compensation legislation and guidelines.
- Experience working with people with brain and/or spinal cord injuries.

Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
In this role you will ensure the best outcomes for our severely injured workers by supporting the Lifetime Care operational team with its decision making and knowledge management processes.
The principles of collaboration and informed decision-making are central to this role and will be achieved by your critical reasoning skills and knowledge of evidence-based treatment, care and support options which are person-centred.
DUTIES
It’s an exciting time at icare where no two days are the same; as a Review Officer you will:
- Apply critical reasoning and thinking within a decision-making framework when reviewing complex requests for services and supports to ensure they appropriately meet the needs of people with severe injuries.
- In carrying out the above accountability, understand how disability impacts on daily living and identify when the individual / and or their families would benefit from early intervention and/or other supports funded by icare and through other sources.
- Keep abreast of and champion the understanding of the Workers Compensation legislation and Guidelines and the contribution to the decision-making framework.
- Support the knowledge management of research and advise on injury management and service delivery to people with severe injuries to identify gaps and barriers in service delivery and share this broadly across the business.
- In carrying out the above accountability, provide guidance and support to the operational staff to ensure the appropriate provision of services for people with severe injuries in a cost-effective manner. This includes specialist knowledge on best practice in interventions and supports including care programs; supports for community participation and assistive technology.
