Position Summary:
Overseen by the Student & Corporate Advisor, BSRM, each RIC Student Intern will have as principal responsibilities the following, but not necessarily all:
1.To be part of a three-to-four-person team with a BSRM team member, industry partners and 2 other student interns from BCom &/or Master’s Program that will build the case study and related data set for one of the companies participating in the challenge,
2.To use their network to attract student teams to participate in the competition, beginning in April (“Save the Date “with Consulting clubs across universities)
3.To maintain the BSRM RIC data base of university contacts and update them with
4. To assist in writing the case study,
5. To assist in the collection of data and summarizing to be part of the data set to the case,
6. To be part of the frequent meetings and interactions with members of the case study,
7. To be part of the overall RIC team and the relevant meetings,
8. To assist in other tasks to make sure that the first edition of the competition runs smoothly over the course of the period October 9th to November 2nd. These tasks have yet to be defined.
9. Note the final weekend is currently planned live on campus.
Education and Experience:
MMR, MBA, MMA students or U2 of the McGill University BCom Degree program, with a concentration in Retail and preferably a focus on finance, analytics; strong critical thinking capabilities.
Other Qualifying skills:
Ability to prioritize and multi-task; strong organizational skills, reliable, self-motivated with an ability to work autonomously and with others in a team. Must be client-focused and service-oriented; strong desire to work in an entrepreneurial educational environment. English (spoken and written), French (spoken and written) an asset.
