DAY-TO-DAY, YOU’LL:

Provide support to the Risk and Assurance team in key areas of Risk, Insurance, Assurance, Business Continuity, ABC, Insurance and Business Management System
Take ownership and manage focused projects assigned by the Risk LT which cumulate to the delivery to the objectives of the Risk Team
Lead the activity to generate content and prepare review packs for the Company’s Leadership Team and Boards as directed by the Chief Risk Officer
Manage Enterprise Risk Management activities; including stakeholder engagement, development and delivery of training/mentoring programmes and assessment of trends and best practice of enterprise risk management
Manage and co-ordinate events such as the bi-annual self cert process and risk register completion
Participate in and manage Assurance Reviews and assessments
Provide support to day-to-day Data Protections tasks, such as Privacy Impact Assessments and Subject Access Requests
Support and promote a positive and innovative risk and assurance culture, seeking and contributing to improvement initiatives, and engaging with business managers to ensure lessons learned are understood and embedded

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE ASSURANCE ASSOCIATE:

An understanding of Compliance, assurance and risk management
The ability to analyse complex data
Excellent attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills
The ability to think creatively and exercise sound judgement
Integrity and commitment to ethical conduct

QUALIFICATIONS:

University Degree in Business, Finance or a related field
Experience of defence, financial services and other regulated insdustries
Experience in compliance, assurance, risk management, business continuity, business management systems, data protection, insurance and commercial intermediaries
A good understanding of relevant regulations and industry standards
Highly experienced in complex administration tasks

Responsibilities:

As an Assurance Associate you’ll have a role that is out of the ordinary. You will provide professional support to the Risk and Assurance subject matter experts on the team. You will lead and support activities which help deliver the objectives of the Risk Function and the company. This includes ensuring QinetiQ’s processes, frameworks and control systems support the needs of the business.
Core competencies of the team include enterprise risk management, assurance, business governance, business continuity, insurance, and company policies and requirements. The role has been designed to lead projects and activities and therefore you will need to have the ability to work autonomously with confidence.
