About the role
AGL Loy Yang is seeking a proactive and results-driven Risk and Compliance Officer to play a pivotal role in governing our risk management system and monitoring changes/actions in the risk register. You will thrive in a dynamic environment, have a passion for compliance, and possess an understanding of risk principles.
What you’ll be doing

Reporting to the Risk Manager, you will:

  • Proactively maintain the completeness and accuracy of Loy Yang’s risk register.
  • Identify and assess new and changed risks affecting Loy Yang in consultation with stakeholders.
  • Track and follow up on risk assessment actions.
  • Facilitate Risk Assessments for new and existing risks.
  • Monitor, audit, and review the risk management program with a vision for continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with relevant personnel to assist site risk management system processes, and improvement activities.
  • Provide risk reporting against business KPIs.
  • Assist in developing of risk training materials to support site personnel in managing their risks.
  • Communicate and consult with employees, from operators to the general manager and in-between.
  • Assist in the completion of regulatory risk assessments.

About you

What you’ll bring to the table

  • Understanding of Compliance and Risk principles (knowledge of ISO 37301 and ISO 31000 required).
  • Demonstrated practical experience in an Advisor/Officer level in a similar role.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to liaise with all areas of the business.
  • Strong focus on delivery and ability to drive positive outcomes with a wide variety of employees.
  • Ability to use influencing skills to bring about change.
  • Willingness and ability to take ownership and accountability.
  • Flexibility to handle various tasks and adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Previous experience with risk management systems or similar.
  • Knowledge of the energy industry or other heavy industry.
  • Formal qualifications in compliance and/or risk management (desirable).
