Responsibilities:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Risk Asset Review Examination Director. In this role you will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the quality of commercial lending practices, such as risk rating accuracy, portfolio quality, completeness of loan documentation, and adherence to the credit policy in the business. The role engages with business and independent risk management executive management to share the findings on a regular basis.
In this role, you will:
- Act as a top subject matter expert and advisor to executive leadership to develop and implement strategies, programs, and policies with a direct and significant impact on examination processes and programs.
- Provide vision and set direction for multiple high impact initiatives and teams to achieve long term strategic objectives that impact organization and management across functions.
- Lead a team of consumer team leads and examiners such that examinations are conducted effectively and in compliance with RAR’s policy and procedures.
- Work with team leads and examiners-in-charge to ensure exams are appropriately staffed, scoped, and successfully executed with a focus on identification and communication of significant issues.
- As needed, effectively communicate with Front Line and IRM senior management on issues identified in exams.
- Represent RAR on assigned internal credit risk committees, councils, and forums.
- Develop an exam plan that provides sufficient coverage of the consumer lending units.
- Manage the execution of highly complex consumer credit examinations, ensure credit risks are identified and managed, monitor portfolio quality and trends, assess quality of credit underwriting and associated credit administration practices, including credit policies, and ensure potential losses are accurately forecasted and measured.
- Provide leadership to develop and implement strategic solutions to highly complex and potentially companywide business challenges.
- Lead a team of experienced examination professionals to develop longer-term, higher-risk strategies for Risk Asset Review Examination in order to achieve business objectives.
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers.
