Risk & Compliance Officer
Role Location: Budapest, Hungary
Department: Corporate Solutions
Employment Type: Permanent
Summary of role:
We are currently looking for a Risk & Compliance Officer where the successful applicant will be responsible for supporting our growing operations in risk, compliance, and other internal Apex matters for Hungary and Switzerland.

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as main contact point for Apex Risk/Compliance, across CS and GSC
  • Act as MLRO and DPO of Apex Hungary
  • Prepare annual Compliance Monitoring Plan of Apex Hungary and Apex Switzerland
  • Review (and amend to local regulations), and implementation of Apex policies & monitoring across CS and GSC, including regular gap analysis
  • Maintain compliance with local regulators in Hungary (as required), and onshore for GSC as required (including maintain contact and complete Regulator questionnaires for GSC)
  • Monthly KRI (risk & compliance) preparation (both CS and GSC) for Apex Hungary and Apex Switzerland
  • Oversight of Apex Hungary and Apex Switzerland regular Apex filings (Client Happiness, Audit/Tax Trackers, etc)
  • Maintain up to date Horizon Tracker
  • Run local Business Review Committee (BRC), prepare CRA Onboarding, and maintain records
  • Managing AML/KYC matters (liaise with Mauritius) & follow up to ensure up to date post annual Risk Reviews/Quality Audits
  • Prepare meeting materials and facilitate Apex Hungary MD meetings, including Board Intelligence upload and minutes preparation
  • Liaise with Group Internal Audit (working closely with Country Head) for both Apex Hungary and Apex Switzerland
  • Participation in implementation of special projects
  • Maintain oversight over events/incidents/breaches and complaints locally and coordinate local risk assessments for both Apex Hungary and Apex Switzerland
  • Be in charge of the various logs and registers, including but not limited to the event management log, High Risk and PEP log, conflicts of interest register;

    Skills Required:

  • An individual with a relevant compliance qualification;

  • At least 3-5 years of proven experience in a similar position preferably in a fiduciary/financial services company;
  • Native Hungarian, and business proficiency in English;
  • Proficient with MS office tools;
  • Flexible with a “can do” attitude;
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, logical and committed to meeting deadlines with limited supervision;
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders;
  • Communicate professionally with all levels of staff (internal and external);
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written form;
  • High level reasoning and an ability to make decisions in a time sensitive environment;
  • Be willing and interested to take up ad-hoc tasks as they arise; and
  • Possess team spirit and enthusiasm with the capacity to build strong client relationships.
