Description:

CMC Markets requires a Risk Controlling Analyst whose primary responsibility is to identify, measure, and mitigate risks within the organization. The Risk Controlling Analysis has to ensure that all risks are correctly captured and reported in a timely and efficient manner.
Additionally, the Risk Controlling Analyst shall provide support to the risk controlling team by collaborating on the development and implementation of risk management strategies and controls.

Responsibilities:

  • Run regular calculation in order to determine the firm capital needs from normative and economic perspective
  • Generating regular and ad-hoc risk reports
  • Update or create new reports in order to reflect regulatory changes or internal changes in the firm due to new or modified product and processes
  • Analyse data to better understand potential risks, concerns and outcomes of decisions
  • Make recommendations to reduce or control risk
  • Collaborate with other team members on local and group level to effectively analyse and present data
  • Monitor internal and external data points that may affect the risk level of a company
  • Manage – in close collaboration with the Head of Risk Controlling – the processes pursuant to Section 8.1 and 8.2 MaRisk (new business / new products / significant changes and similar)
  • Review regulatory development across Europe and in Germany specifically related to Risk Controlling. Assess applicability, propose and project manage solutions through to implementation
  • Ensure the continued development of documentation, including policies, procedures and frameworks in line with the changing regulatory environment;
  • Involvement in preparing responses to risk-related queries/requests and consultation papers as they apply
  • Maintain and promote communication and strong working relationships with key stakeholders, across CMC Markets Germany GmbH as well as Europe and UK / the Group
  • Involvement in regulatory audits and remediation activities related to Risk Controlling
  • Support the Head of Risk Controlling in providing a strong lead in the proactive support of the risk process within the region to identify, assess, treat, report; monitor risks promoting a strong risk culture
  • Ensure monitoring programme and controls are fit for purpose and undertaken in a timely manner
  • Provide advice/guidance to the business on key areas of Risk Controlling
  • Undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this role
  • Assist the Head of Risk Controlling in providing sufficient management information to local and Group management bodies
  • Maintain personal/professional development to meet the changing demands of the role, including all relevant regulatory and legislative training

Key Skills & Experience

  • Good relevant experience as a Risk Analyst in a similar company
  • Fluent in English and good understanding of German - ideally B2 and above
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, VBA Macro
  • Basic knowledge of Python and SQL is an advantage
  • Analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data and information
  • Degree in Economics, Finance, Mathematics or a related field - preferred
  • Problem solving oriented
  • Proactive and initiative
