Description:

Our client is a Digital Asset Wealth Management platform regulated by FSRA and based in Abu Dhabi is seeking a skilled Risk Officer to lead the development of their risk management function. The platform is designed for traditional finance professionals and investors to easily gain exposure to the emerging Digital Assets class and more effectively manage their own or clients’ assets and portfolios.

As the Risk Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing, assessing, and updating risk policies, procedures, and controls to ensure alignment with relevant legislation, regulatory standards, and best practices.
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing external and internal risks on a regular basis.
  • Collaborating with the Board to set the overall risk appetite and culture for the organization.
  • Leading risk management activities, including regular risk assessments and reporting.
  • Maintaining the monthly risk register and managing enterprise-wide risk assessments.
  • Fostering a robust risk culture throughout the organization and conducting routine risk and control assessments.
  • Coordinating staff awareness and training initiatives on risk matters.
  • Reporting to and collaborating with the Senior Executive Officer (SEO) and the Board as necessary, meeting regular risk reporting requirements in Abu Dhabi.

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least seven years of risk management experience, with a minimum of three years in wealth management within ADGM for a category 3 firm.
  • Experience in performing Line 1 or Line 2 risk management roles.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise-wide risks, including financial and non-financial risks, and knowledge of Digital Assets.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal, with robust analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to manage robust communication with external stakeholders and work autonomously with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.
  • A business-enabling mindset and willingness to work in a start-up culture, contributing to business development and success.
