Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented individual to join the Governance Team at UHS as a Risk and Patient Safety Co-ordinator. To be successful you will be both knowledgeable and highly experienced in delivering excellence in healthcare, passionate about driving the governance agenda forward to promote safe care, positive patient experiences, and effective risk management. Applications are welcomed from both clinical and non-clinical professionals although experience in a healthcare environment or a governance role is highly advantageous.
This position is based at UHS with some flexibility of working from home, once a period of training is completed. As part of this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of specialities such as Emergency Medicine, Medicine, Specialist Medicine, Pathology and Cancer Care. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a large division to develop and shape governance, whilst also interlinking with the wider organisation.

Responsibilities:

As part of the governance team, the role will be integral to shaping the care our patients receive and ensuring that it is safe and effective. The role is fast paced, and tasks can vary day to day. These may include:

  • Investigating incidents and complaints to identify what happened and what we can learn and

developing recommendations and action plans to address any issues identified.

  • Undertaking risk assessments to identify what mitigations we can put into place to minimise

and prevent risks from materialising.

  • Ensuring that we are compliant with trust and national policies, guidance and alerts, as well as

regulatory requirements such as those set out by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

  • Supporting the division and directorates to undertake and learn from audits and outcomes.
